A Neffy Tutorial: 'Vector' Art by neffy A Neffy Tutorial: 'Vector' Art by neffy
Full view please.
=decep requested this. Although I think I am far from being someone that should give vector-type picture advice, I hope you find this helpful. ;D It's for people who use Adobe Photoshop and want to make vector-style art. Hence vector in quotations in the title.
You can use this tutorial if you need help with the pen tool. It's the same process as making lineart, only after making a shape and deselecting it, you 'fill path' instead of 'stroke path'. And, note me if you find something confusing.
Sorry it's such a huge file. ;x

You really ought to use a fill layer instead of a normal layer to keep your vectors on. You have more control of your colors that way, and you can edit the fill path if you don't like it. Saves you alot of trouble in the long run.

this way is useful for me, in 2 years since I made this tutorial i've never wanted to change my colors later.
besides, i don't even know what a fill layer is. XD

why would you go through all that trouble to crop it on MS Paint where the quality will decrease? why not just save it on photoshop? =S

otherwise, good tutorial. it would help if it were step by step, but it would get rather long. haha.

...what XD
you obviously don't get what I meant.
to print screen and paste it in paint, I can crop the image and add a border. i can then copy and paste into photoshop, where i save the image.

i tried to make it step by step, but the process is NOT something quick, it IS long, it takes hours to complete a decent looking vexel.

This doesn't seem to be working for me. No matter how many times I try to this isn't working.
I tried to follow the pen tool, only it doesn't work in the way you've done it.
I tried the free form pen tool as well, still no help there. I can't fill the area. I have to click more than once to create anchor points or it'll be a giant shape like mess all over the place.

Uh help?

(1) make sure the pen tool is still selected.
(2) cntrl click ur path
(3) then right click the path and "fill path"

using the eyedropper havn't seen that on any other tutorials yet :o
which is strange since it's good idea if your going for the original looking colors
